Judy Scheel, Ph.D., LCSW & Executive Director of CEDAR Associates

     

J

udy Scheel is the Executive Director of CEDAR Associates and has nearly twenty years of clinical practice in the treatment of eating disorders.  She is also the President of the Eating Disorder Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization dedicated to education and prevention of eating disorders.  Relevant publications include a current book project on eating disorders and Attachment Theory - the impact that early relationships have on the development of eating disorders and writes articles for professional and community publications.  She has co-produced a nationally distributed educational video with teaching manual for students in grades 8-12 on eating disorders and prevention-Awarded Honorable Mention by Columbus International Film and Video Festival.  She has been a lecturer at Purchase College, SUNY and a frequent presenter at local, regional and national conferences.  She is a member of NASW, National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), Academy for Eating Disorders (AED), and the Eating Disorders Coalition, Inc.

Kristin Lore, LCSW & Mt. Kisco Center Director

ristin Lore, LCSW is a clinical social worker who specializes in eating disorders and works withn adolescents and adults.  She received her Masters degree from Columbia University.  She received specialized eating disorder training at St. Vincent's Hospital's inpatient eating disorder unit where she later worked and assisted in developing a sexual trauma track.  In 1997, she began working at CEDAR Associates and became the coordinator of the Mt. Kisco branch.  She has written articles for local magazines and has lectured on the topic of eating disorders. 

 

Jackie Reilly, MS LMSW

acqueline Reilly started her life after college pursuing a doctorate in political theory.  Her interests were drawn to psychology and she shifted gears completing a Masters Degree at Columbia University. From there she became a psychotherapist at the outpatient eating disorder clinic at New York Presbyterian Hospital. She also has experience working with Heroin addicted HIV/Aids patients and in the field of public policy. After becoming a mother, Ms. Reilly joined the Cedar Associates team.  She lectures locally and is the creator of the 12 week cognitive behavioral therapy group treating bulimia. She has taken part in national studies assessing various cognitive behavioral models for the treatment of bulimia and binge eating disorders.  

Joan Jablow, MS, APRN, BCNP

oan Jablow is a Board Certified Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who has twenty years experience in psychiatry.  She was trained at New York Presbyterian Hospital and as a senior staff member performed extensive psychiatric evaluations, engaged in supportive and exploratory psychotherapies and provided medication evaluations with ongoing medical and pharmacology follow-up. In the latter role, Ms. Jablow's work included young adults from age 16 to adults of all ages with varied psychiatric diagnoses including eating disorders. Ms. Jablow has a private practice and regularly trains nurse practitioner students including a two year clinical instructorship at Yale University. Ms. Jablow earned two Master's degrees at Pace University and her post-graduate studies include Family Therapy Training at the Family Therapy Institute of Westchester and Transference Focused Psychotherapy at the Personality Disorders Institute at Cornell University. Current professional affiliations include the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York, The New York Association of Collaborative Professional and the Hudson Valley Collaborative Divorce Association.

Elyse Falk, MS, RD, CDN

lyse Falk learned that nutrition, health promotion, and counseling was her passion her senior year at Syracuse University while obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree.  She went on to New York University to complete a Masters degree of Science in Clinical Nutrition which included an internship at NYU Medical Center .  After passing the Registered Dietitian exam, she landed her first job at the American Health Foundation working on a national clinical research study counseling women and helping to coordinate the study.  After having 2 children and taking some time off, she found her way to CEDAR Associates and has been working in the area of eating disorders for the past three years.
