“Together we can help … no one should suffer alone.”

Susan's artwork is deeply personal inspired by her family and work as a psychotherapist. Driven by an unrelenting passion for artistic self-expression, she uses her own hand dyed and surface designed textiles, commercial fabrics and threads and mixed media to create abstract works, stories about families and images of women who are courageous, joyful and inspirational. Whether working in her clinical psychotherapy practice or creating alone in her studio, her greatest desire is to instill in others the ability to connect with the world in a meaningful way.

Eating disorders, which include Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa and Obesity due
to abuse of food, are escalating and affecting unprecedented numbers of individuals including elementary school children. It is estimated that about 25 percent of college students have a diagnosed eating disorder, although this number is likely greater. Children, young people and adults’ view about their bodies and physical and emotional wellness are being challenged every day by psychological, societal, cultural and media forces. In an effort to treat and cure these life-encompassing and threatening diseases, the CEDAR Associates Foundation, Inc. works to provide non-for-profit to programs and materials designed toward the education, prevention and research of eating disorders.
